The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in the general areas of 1) fluid mechanics and 2) dynamics and vibrations. The Acoustical AMA series allows current students to meet with acoustical professionals in an informal setting and pick their brains concerning all things acoustics and related career paths.
This Friday, we have the special privilege of of getting to pick the brain of Prof. Steve Garrett! Prof. Garrett is a retired faculty member of the Graduate Program in Acoustics at The Pennsylvania State University and recipient of many accolades, including the Rolex Award for Enterprise (environment category), and has been issued over two dozen patents. This is a great opportunity that doesn’t happen often, so please come with questions. Our vice chair Will is going to be running this meeting, so if you have questions but do not feel comfortable asking you can forward them to Will.

The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) seeks to engage and foster members by hosting the Early-Career Acousticians Retreat (EAR) 2022! EAR is a two-day workshop for early career professionals in the field of acoustics focused on career development and networking. The workshop will allow you to connect and socialize with your fellow early career acousticians as well as more senior members of the Society. You will learn more about the Society. Several workshops and roundtables will be held focused on collaboration, communication skills, leadership, and other topics to support your career development.
