"Triton Systems, Inc. (www.tritonsystems.com), an advanced materials inspired product development company in the Boston area, is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to spearhead the development of innovative Hearing Protection. Experience in acoustics, test design and setup, and personnel protective equipment is highly desired.
In addition to hearing protection, other relevant platforms currently in research and development that the hire would be expected to actively participate in or lead include: underwater acoustics and vibration (related to sonobuoy design), and personnel physiological status monitoring. Relevant background in human factors, electronics, fluid dynamics, and biomedical engineering is desirable.
The candidate will participate in the design and prototyping of cutting edge devices. Activities will include, review of technologies, numerical modeling, design and fabrication of electronic and mechanical prototypes, design of experiments, performing experiments in an independent & inventive manner, providing clear and organized reports of literature reviews, designs, and testing results, and proposing ideas for new and improved products and processes to funding agencies and customers. The right candidate will be able to develop new technology platforms. A BS/MS/Ph.D in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a relevant field is required. Software expertise with Excel, Matlab, Labview, etc. is required. Relevant industrial experience including proposal writing is preferred.
