Short Biographies Requested
Current students, help us improve TexasAcoustics.org!
Dr. Hamilton would like me to pass on the message below to all current acoustics students at UT (including audiology and CSD students):
As many of you know, Heather is working on updating the Texas Acoustics website. As part of the "Current Students" tab, we would like to highlight the work being done by UT students. Could you please send a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) describing your current research project? Other helpful information to include in your short biography would be where you're from, what your previous degrees are, and what your ultimate degree plan is (PhD or MS). An example biography is included below. Additionally, please send an appropriate photo of yourself to be published alongside your short biography. If you do not have a photo you'd like to use, contact Heather and she will schedule a time to take one.
All biographies and photographs (and any questions) should be sent to:
heatherscarlettrose@gmail.com
Note, not all biographies will make it onto the webpage right now. It's still good to have this information on file so they can be rotated throughout the year.
Thank you.
Example Biography:
Ashley Hicks came to UT after receiving her Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas. She currently works with Drs. Wilson and Haberman on an acoustic meta-material research project. Specifically, her work focuses on the development and testing of a thin panel isolator filled with cylindrical air bubbles. Ultimately, thin panels may prove to be a useful tool in improving the underwater sound environment for marine life. She hopes to finish her Master's degree in August of 2015.
