What's going on in the student chapter this week:

All Week - Texas Acoustics Shirts

Texas Acoustics shirts have arrived! Many of you have already recieved your shirt, but if you haven't I will work with you to get it to you this week. If you didn't order a shirt previously but would like to now, another order can be arranged. Please reply to this email or contact me personally if there is interest in ordering more shirts. 

Now until Wednesday - Free ASA Publications Available

As ASA moves to a print-on-demand publication system, they are trying to reduce their book stockpile by offering several books that are available for free (including shipping). To our knowledge, there is no limit to how many books you can request, but you will be the first to know if that changes! If you would like to request books, please reply to this email with the numbers (as found in the Google Doc link) of the books you would like and your name. Please submit these requests by Wednesday, April 1st. (If you have any issues viewing the list, let me know and I will send you a .pdf copy.)

Friday, April 3rd - General Meeting

Finally, this Friday is a general meeting. We will be discussing several important things, including the nomination of a new officer panel, with elections to be held on April 17th. If you intend to run for a position, please attend this meeting! We will also discuss our upcoming end of semester social. If several folks could look into appropriate park/picnic areas around the city and the cost of renting them (if applicable), that would be great.

Additionally, Dr. Blackstock will be discussing the ASA Students Meet Members for Lunch program. In this program, students meet with a member of the ASA for lunch at the upcoming meeting. The ASA Education Committee arranges for a student to meet one-on-one with a member of the Acoustical Society over lunch. The purpose is to make it easier for students to meet and interact with members at ASA meetings. Dr. Blackstock will provide more information on the sign-up process and deadlines in his presentation.
